Powerful Partners: Munich Medical International and HMI

October 2005 - Munich Medical International has signed a strategic association agreement with Harvard Medical International early this month to encourage and promote collaborative projects.
The strategic partnership refers to a long term relationship between Harvard Medical International (HMI) and the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich (LMU). The Munich Harvard Alliance for Medical Education was founded in 1996 to develop and implement an innovative overall concept for a new medical curriculum. Since the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich established LMU Munich Medical International as a for-profit company in March 2005, both institutions wished to continue and expand their collaboration.
The strategic partnership enables HMI and MMI to raise their medical know how and expertise in medical education and to use the synergetic effects. HMI is currently developing a global network of centres of medical excellence associated with HMI, including medical schools, in various parts of the world, which givesMMI the opportunity to bring in its special expertise where it is required. On the other hand, HMI is a renowned partner to complement Munich Medical Internationals mission to provide education programs, consultations in health care management and health care delivery to the European Community and other world wide partners.
Currently HMI and Munich Medical International are planning to construct a large simulation centre in Dubai with main focus on emergency medicine and surgical procedures. At this centre physicians will be trained in simulated situations before attending real patients. Prof. Christ, CEO of Munich Medical International sees many other opportunities of international cooperation with HMI. Both institutions will draw on each others experts whenever it seems to be useful and beneficial or when requested by their customers.
